Can we just stop for a second and admire these shots starring none other than my favourite mermaid, Hanalei Reponty?  I don't think this shoot could have been anything other than amazing though given the dream coupling of Hanalei and Australian photographer Brydie Mack of Wolf Cub Chronicles.
After discovering her work a few months ago via Instagram I became an instant fan of Brydie's relaxed styling and pro birthday suit aesthetic.

Hanalei is styled throughout in pieces by fellow Aussie swimwear brand Minimale Animale.

Is it just me or are things looking really good Down Under?

White On

I really feel the cold- I'm not one of those people who can go out bared legged for the sake of fashion when it's -5c outside and so I find myself getting stuck in the style rut of oh-so practical jumpers and jeans. This can get a little old when winter lasts the majority of the year in the UK…

 But now the first hints of spring are arriving and I am looking forward to shedding those heavy layers for pieces a little lighter and brighter. Swapping your usual indigo and black jeans for white is an easy way to do this. It may be sunny outside but it's still pretty cold, so pairing them with your winter woollies means you get your spring fix whilst still remaining toasty.

 Once the weather warms up just swap for a light shirt or- my personal favourite from these looks- a distressed white tee. I think white on white just looks so fresh! Don't you?

Fete Champetre

I'd been following this little Arctic Fox on Instagram for some time; her feed is awash with glitter, fluffy pomerians and really good shoes so it's a joy to scroll through when you're in need of a little bit of an inspiration/pick-me-up.  So when Emily started posting sneaky peeks from her very own clothing line I was very excited.

As you can see from the beautiful images  above, the collection does not disappoint and neither does the incredible lookbook, lensed by Wildfox co-creator Kim Gordon, it somehow manages to strike the perfect balance between minimal and feminine.

Whilst being minimal in appearance, the collection is also minimal in number; consisting of only 5 key pieces with only 55 of each being produced.  Furthermore each piece is made from organic materials from ethical origins and positively charged through the principles of reiki.  

I think this gives the whole collection a really special and precious kind of feel, which is really unique and even rarer in today's world of fast fashion.

Hanelei Reponty for Wildfox White Label, Spring 2014

The mermaid obsession is still going strong over here with this latest offering from Californian label, Willdfox.  I've said it numerous times and I will say it again- these girls always get it so right!  Perfect casting here of Tahiti native surfer babe, real life mermaid and one of my personal favourites Hanelei.  With the heavy fringe she sports in this shoot she bears a very striking resemblance to Daryl Hannah in 80's classic, 'Splash'.  

In typical pastel hued Wildfox goodness, the  lookbook sees Hanelei lingering on the beach in pieces from the label's Spring 14 White Label range- this is the stuff mermaid dreams are made of!
