Under her Spell: The 90's Witch
I've been feeling a little nostalgic towards the 90's recently. But then again who isn't with 90's grunge having some what of a revival? It may also be due to the fact that I also recently rediscovered some other old favourites bands and films from the era.
One of these, is most definitely The Craft. I was obsessed with it around the age of 13, and after watching the Wildfox AW10 film the other day, was inspired to re-visit it. There are some great 90's fashion moments that I thought I would share with you; you've got to love the Gothic meets Catholic school girl look. And check out those maxi skirts with the leather jackets, which now look very appealing!

Shimmering Lights
Sorry for the lack of posts this past week- I've become a bit obsessed with finding the perfect dress (at the right price!), for a ball I am attending this weekend. The theme is 'Carnival' which is proving to be quite difficult. My thoughts were to get a sequin number since Google image search revealed that is what Carnival pretty much consists of. Sequins, feathers, and a whole load more sequins! However the vast majority on the high street are extortionately priced or just plain tacky. Plus, I don't want to end up in the same dress as someone else.
And so I've been scouring all my favourite vintage sites trying to find 'the one', and in turn avoid an embarrassing 'same dress' incident. (Every fashionista's worst nightmare!) These little beauties are some I came across, but due to my major procrastination/auction end times/prices all sadly got away. Maybe they're not as super bright and colourful as they should be, but I think black and sequins looks a little more glamorous. Don't you think? For instant carnival, just add feathers!
The search continues...

Chanel Resort 2011: Riviera Cool
On a water front promenade under a Saint-Tropez sunset, Karl Lagerfeld showcased his latest offerings to the fashion elite. The Chanel Resort collection was imbued with the carefree, sun-soaked essence of San-Tropez living, as models padded barefoot and bronze limbed down the runway; beach-waved hair blowing in the sea breeze.
I loved the vintage-esque floral printed maxis in pretty colours, and the beautiful white intricately beaded one-piece. Not to mention the foot jewellery!
There was more than a hint of fashion nostalgia in the air; models wore high-waisted brown corduroys paired with bikini tops, kaftans and maxis of diaphanous printed silk and some very Bardot-esque pink check made an appearance, all fuelling the 70's revival that filled the AW10 runways.

Met Gala 2010: Best Dressed
Left to right: Emma Watson is custom-made Burberry, Taylor Swift in Ralph Lauren, Diane Kruger in Calvin Klein, Kirsten Dunst in Rodarte for GAP
Left to right: Jessica Stam in Rachel Roy, Kate Bosworth inValentino, Leighton Meester in Marc Jacobs, Alessandra Ambrosia in Versace
My favourite dress of the night- Camilla Bell in Jason Wu. Such an elegant gown without being too flashy like some of the others, and it fits her so well.
On another note, where were the Olsens?! I was so looking forward to their outfits, but haven't seen any pictures of them yet. Where they not there? Comment below if you know.
