Paint Pastel Princess

Pastel hair must truly be the trend that will not die. For numerous seasons now it just seems to just have been gaining momentum. And with the collections for SS12 absolutely crammed full of candy coloured treats, this is one trend that doesn't seem to be disappearing any time soon.

In particular I'm really feeling the washed out candy floss pink which can be seen on the liked of blogger Hannah Metz and fashion photographer Lina Tesch-two girls from opposite ends of the fashion spectrum which just proves that this trend works whether you favour the rock chick look a la Lina or prefer to keep things a little more girlie like Miss Metz' vintage inspired ensembles.

The look can also be seen in several lookbooks for this season. Pink tips are how Topshop have interpreted the trend for their 'Pageant Princess' collection and several different pastel hues were applied to the models' hair in LF Stores festival inspired offerings.

Model Kori Richardson was seen with baby pink tips in her platinum locks was was Lily Donaldson on the cover of Numero Tokyo's April issue. And of course, one of my personal favourites Charlotte Free who's now infamous bubble-gum locks have arguably made her one of most sought after models of the moment, gracing numerous runways, editorials and campaigns from Vogue to Wildfox.

Today I realized that I am totally obsessed with the idea of matching top and bottom halves. I don't know when this idea became acceptable in my mind but I assume it has come from many months of subconsciously absorbing the trend through various fashion blogs.

Whether it's a matching suit jacket and trousers in nearly matching but not quite floral print, or the maybe slightly less visually offensive pairing of top and bottoms in pastel or bleached hues. The former seems to work best as a tailored suit combo a la Celine Resort SS12. But if your budget doesn't stretch to that the high street offers several more affordable takes on the trend. Whilst the latter seems to work equally well as deliciously comfy looking separates, like those from the Elizabeth and James Textile collection.

I have my eye on those printed trousers from ASOS, which would go just as well with a plain jersey tee as they would with a clashing shirt or jacket.  What's your take on the trend? Would you wear matching top and bottoms?

Little Mermaid

Those Wildfox girls are too good! How amazing are these new shots from their Summer 12 campaign? I think one of the secrets to their success is that they have a really strong identity due to the fact that they understand their brand and it's target audience so well.

Charlotte Free is an obvious Wildfox muse:  photographed against the backdrop of the California coastline ,wearing a hot pink cropped t shirt and bubblegum sea-waved hair she has just the right amount of LA cool and that signature Wildfox magic.

Kitten Features

Ok so I know every other blogger in the blogosphere has already featured these Charlotte Olypmia Kitty Flats (and about 6 month ago, ahem) but I just can't 'pussy foot' (haha, I know I'm sorry- I just couldn't resist!) around the subject anymore: I must have these shoes! Or at least a very similar looking knock off version because at £485 they are definitely not within my budget.

I have managed to locate the wedge version's doppleganger here on eBay but am yet to it's smoking slipper style counterpart that I am so fond of. If anyone knows where I can get some flat style kitty pumps please do let me know. You would would make a crazy cat lady very happy.

Happy New Year! And all that jazz. I've never really been a fan of New Year...is it just me or is it always over hyped and over priced? Anyway...

Ms Zinser is no stranger to this blog and I am loving these shots of her by Justin Coit. She has been styled in a few pieces by one of my favourite labels Stone Cold Fox. I was already obsessing over their whole new SS12 collection Beautiful//Imperfection and in particular the show stopping Lurring Gown; a beautiful giraffe print silk maxi with slinky cut outs which I am now loving even more after seeing Gillian rocking it.
