Could this editorial be any more perfect?  The pin stripes, mixed with baseball caps and New Balance sneakers are perfectly sports luxe.  A deliciously baggy knitted onesie paired with those Celine slip ons; those Stella McCartney platforms and the checked jumper of the season.  All on a beautifully under-coiffed  Josephine Skriver (complete with tousled hair and 'just came from the gym' sheen)  This one definitely hits a home-run.

So unless you've been living under a rock for the last month or so so you will know that pink is definitely the colour du jour- more specifically this dusty rose pink in the form of candyfloss soft and oversized coats! I'm not going to give you a 'the best of' as it's been done to death. (Ivelana from Frichic has done a nice post here and she looks amazing in hers!) I love this look and think it is shown especially well in this editorial from Australian Vogue above, mixed with other cosy looking touchable textures in shades of soft grey and damson.

But alas, when I ventured in to Topshop earlier this week to try on one of these beauties, I discovered that it made me look a bit wishy washy and just didn't really suit me all that much... Add to that the £80 price tag for something that was not only the colour of a wafer but the thickness of it too left me feeling very unconvinced to part with my cash. Perhaps super sweet accessories are the way to go instead?  Something like that enormous knitted Giles beanie?

I must have Cowgirls on the brain at the moment... I saw a a couple of shots of this editorial on Harper's Facebook page and had to track down the rest. Again a lot of Wild West inspiration with the cowboy boots and hats but some other pieces thrown in to the mix; a lacey shirt, paisley and snake skin printed dresses give it a more boho feel and prevent it from being too 'costumey'.

Enfant Sauvage

Teresa Oman in Enfant Sauvage from Claire Gorman on Vimeo
styling by Mandy Shadforth/Oracle Fox

Another treasure discovered via Oracle Fox- this time a short film styled by Mandy herself.  I'd seen stills from this dotted around the internet and always been intrigued but never managed to find the full thing until a few weeks ago.

Teresa is one of my favourite models and the styling in this is just out of this world.  Many of the necklaces and headresses were made by Mandy herself and compliment the woven swimsuits and bohemian hair and makeup perfectly.  I would love to recreate something like this one day myself!

Sucker for messy blonde hair and a bleached brow as ever.  Shoots like these that look so 'undone' and yet so perfect at the same time are my favourite.  This one I felt was a bit different from the norm with the addition of some more formal pieces like the tux jacket, clean metallic jewellery and the charcoal backdrop offset against the more rugged textures of Leila's hair, denim shirt and battered boots; so beautiful.

Rip It Up

 photo Jeans9.jpg photo Jeans3.jpg photo Jeans8.jpg photo Jeans6.jpg photo ripped-knee-jeans.jpg photo 8536_10151470058357957_431514646_n.jpg photo Jeans10.jpg
Distressed denim; not exactly revolutionary on the fashion front but there does seem to be a fine art to getting those rips just right. Two tears right across the knees looks en point and gives an instant update to a pair of skinnies.

I tried on a couple of pairs in Topshop such as the Black Rip Jamie Jeans but the rips sat too high on my legs and were nowhere near rustic looking enough for my tastes.  I think the key to the perfect pair lies in some careful DIYing and gentle distressing by hand to achieve the perfect 'worn in' look and a pair Kurt would be proud of.
