White On

I really feel the cold- I'm not one of those people who can go out bared legged for the sake of fashion when it's -5c outside and so I find myself getting stuck in the style rut of oh-so practical jumpers and jeans. This can get a little old when winter lasts the majority of the year in the UK…

But now the first hints of spring are arriving and I am looking forward to shedding those heavy layers for pieces a little lighter and brighter. Swapping your usual indigo and black jeans for white is an easy way to do this. It may be sunny outside but it's still pretty cold, so pairing them with your winter woollies means you get your spring fix whilst still remaining toasty.

Once the weather warms up just swap for a light shirt or- my personal favourite from these looks- a distressed white tee. I think white on white just looks so fresh! Don't you?

G.I Jane

Is it just me or is camo print looking really good right now? This is one trend I wouldn't really have seen myself resurrecting from my school days but like a lot of other 90's grunge inspired trends it seems to be making a comeback.  My favourite way to wear it is in the form of oversized, 'stolen from your boyfriend' style jackets- I just can't get enough.

And even better, they're surprisingly versatile and pretty perfect for the rather unpredictable weather of our British 'summertime'; looking just as great with your trusty denim cutoffs and vintage band tee as they do thrown over a 'barely there' mini worn with bare legs and sleeves rolled up to reveal stacks of arm swag.

So after much procrastinating and some discussion I have something new to show on the blog today in the form of the above 'Outfit of the Day'/ editorial!

It was seriously warm on the day we happened to shoot these which meant I lost the will to be photographed after about an hour of running around in the blazing sun... despite this I think we still managed to get some good shots, which was in no small part down the patience of the photographer.  Anyway I hope you enjoy our little collaboration.

Galactic

Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Yep, still obsessed with all things galaxy...especially this sheer maxi skirt.  This particular print is just amazing!  I love the way Willabelle from Pale Division has paired hers with these Burberry-esque platforms.

They have a few similar styles on Romwe which I am considering getting for myself including this beautiful tulip shaped version.  The only this stopping me are those damn customs charges!

Matchy Matchy

Today I realized that I am totally obsessed with the idea of matching top and bottom halves. I don't know when this idea became acceptable in my mind but I assume it has come from many months of subconsciously absorbing the trend through various fashion blogs.

Whether it's a matching suit jacket and trousers in nearly matching but not quite floral print, or the maybe slightly less visually offensive pairing of top and bottoms in pastel or bleached hues. The former seems to work best as a tailored suit combo a la Celine Resort SS12. But if your budget doesn't stretch to that the high street offers several more affordable takes on the trend. Whilst the latter seems to work equally well as deliciously comfy looking separates, like those from the Elizabeth and James Textile collection.

I have my eye on those printed trousers from ASOS, which would go just as well with a plain jersey tee as they would with a clashing shirt or jacket.  What's your take on the trend? Would you wear matching top and bottoms?

Anja Constantinova for Stylestalker Lookbook, 'Baby's on Fire'
photographed by Darren MacDonald

The name of this lookbook really couldn't be more apt- Aussie label Stylestalker is most definitely on fire!  Their latest lookbook combines three of my favourite things; Anja, CATS and Stylestalker!

As if I wasn't obsessed enough with this brand and their achingly cool and beautifully designed pieces they go and produce another stunning lookbook. There seems to be a whole fashion fabulousness coming from Down Under at the moment in the shape of fashion muses such as Bambi Northwood, inspired fashion bloggers, en point labels and designers (not to mention sunshine!) that are making the prospect of emmigrating very encticing indeed...

Ambush Boots £75- Topshop

It was shoe-lust at first sight.   The perfect 'goes with everything' ankle boot; the low block heel making them utilitarian enough for running around in during the day teamed with skinny jeans and dressy enough to wear at night to toughen up prety floral tea dresses.  The zip detail adding just the right amount of grunge chic.

After major bout of procrastination caused me to miss out on these last time round I had been internet stalking the Topshop site for weeks, waiting for these bad boys to come back in to stock. So glad I've finally ordered them!  They also bear a striking resemblance to the Acne Pistol boots but at a third of the price.

Playing Hooky from Planet Blue

Loving all the pieces in the latest look book from Planet Blue, especially the Chan Luu knitted shorts and the grunge tastic Unif checked shirt.

The looks here were created by super-stylist and blogger Ashley Glorioso and photographer Zoey Grossman. These two also team up on Ashley's blog Purse n Boots and it has to be the most perfect creative collaboration if ever there was one.  Ashley's looks are always perfectly put together whilst simultaneously appearing totally relaxed and care-free.  Serious styling envy right here!
