You know when you come across one of those brands that you're instantly obsessed with?  Meet my latest label crush Amuse Society.  They seduced me with an Instagram feed full of cleverly curated coolness and I've been stalking their feed ever since, counting down the days till their site launched in full yesterday.

It's easy to see why the brand has such an appeal to me, the creators Mandy and Summer describing their aesthetic as one that 'channels a rock muse on a beach holiday'.  Rock chicks and beaches??  In the infamous words of Ms Zoe, "I DIE".  Some of the items on my wish list would be the slogan tanks and sweats, those high waisted striped bikini bottoms and the sequin joggers but realistically there's nothing I wouldn't smuggle in to my wardrobe given half a chance (and you know, 30c and some sand and sea!)

They count some other of my personal muses amongst their 'society' too:  British model and general babe, Joanna Halpin, photographer Kayla Varley and the recently discovered (by me at least) bad-ass stylist, store owner and mommy, Ascot Friday. Coupled with a super hot look book shot and styled by a couple more of my faves,  Harper Smith and Conor Graham and featuring beach bling jewellery from other awesome designers such as Luv AJ and Vanessa Mooney, it's a little slice of sun kissed beach heaven in the middle of this grey British winter of ours.

Mandy, Summer, if you could just send me one of everything (and maybe a plane ticket to Cali) that would be great, thanks.

Check out all the goodness here!

Cleopatra Style

Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket
When I was younger I was obsessed with Egyptology. Obsessed. My parents bought me this kit and it was full of puzzles and facts all about Tutankhamen and other Egypt related stuff and I used to copy all the hieroglyphics and strange symbols in gold marker and have them stuck all over my bedroom walls. Maybe slightly strange for a 10 year old girl but hey, these people worshipped cats so they must have been doing something right.

NY based designer Mara Hoffman's website cites her inspiration is taken from 'nature, world travel and fantasy' which makes her a girl after my own heart but it looks like we also have another thing in common if her SS12 swimwear line is anything to go by.   The collection is filled with imagery from Ancient World and consists of one and two piece swimsuits with unusual placed but simultaneously flattering cut outs.  Prints, patterns and symbols which wouldn't look out of place inside a Pharaoh's tomb all adorn these beautifully designed pieces.

I am especially taken with the sarcophagi printed, cross back maxi dress which would make a beach cover up.  Or worn on a balmy summer night sipping cocktails beneath the palm trees, it would be fit for an Egyptian queen.

Festival Daze

I have a feeling it must be the combination over poring over countless festival inspired look books and the massive influx of Coachella fashion street snaps clogging up my Facebook feed but donning some denim shorts and shades and running away to a summer festival is looking like a really good idea right about now!  Too bad I didn't make Coachella again.  Maybe next year...

I stumbled across this Tumblr from US brand Sugarhigh + Lovestoned and was immediately addicted.  I're re-blogged some of my favourite images above but click through to see bohemian inspired goodness.
